Cutting the Strings
I went to my old church tonight and the former pastor came up.. and then someone said to me... "ya need to cut the strings." Now, would somebody tell me why I need to 'cut the strings' from my pastor? He's the reason I started going to church and even if he's not the pastor of the church i'm attending... he's the reason why i'm in a church, he's the reason I'm a christian. and he's a close friend of mine.. and he's like a big brother. we go to lunch with each other like once a week.. or every two weeks.......of course, it's always chipotle.. hahaha. but, i fail to see the reasons why i should 'cut the strings' on someone that opened my door to chirst? I didn't leave the church because Heath put in his resignation.. I stopped going to church on a regular basis back in like... idk.. june? maybe before that.. there are a lot of things that really just pushed me away from the church... I've been furious with a lot of things happening within the church for awhile.. and i finally just kinda stopped going until i left for college.. well, i didn't go there either... haha, but, i had chapel 3 times a week.. and needed to sleep sometime.. so, i used saturdays and sundays as catch up and was Bedside Baptist with my RA Justin. :o) but now i'm back and have been goign to a church in Kettering.. its a little different than what i like.. and am still looking for a new church, i guess... but... idk.. that 'cutting the string' comment... idk..

"Cutting the Strings" Moving forward, trusting God,leaving the nest, graduating are all examples of cutting the strings. It does not mean we forget the past, merely that we recognize it for what it is and look forward to becoming more..to growing.
Satan would love to use anything to get in your way, But God can move anything that stands between you and Him.
I was not privy to the conversation, however I hope you know in your heart how very much we love you at New Life. You and yours are always in our hearts and prayers, and I trust your feelings for us at New Life has not changed just because Heath is no longer here. He followed where God was leading Him and I pray for them always.
The "Church" is not just about the pastor, He is the Sheppard and the people are His flock, but God reigns as the leader. I know how close you and Heath are and would not expect you to feel any different than you do. He has been a friend as well as a pastor to you.
Times of change can be difficult, but through prayer and faithfulness we can come out to the other side better for what we have endured. God will never forsake you, He will never give you more than you can bear, and He will always love you. Put your faith and trust in Him and not man, for we are all human and make mistakes.
Don't close any doors, keep your eyes looking up and your heart on the one who gave His son for YOU!
You are a light brightly burning in this world of darkness....
God loves you and so do I........
Ever need to talk give me a holler.
Hope to see you soon..
Lord willing..
I feel for you Brandon. The other day someone told me I needed to stay away from a "problem child". She happens to be one of my few and best friends here. She is also the only reason I came back to God about 3 weeks ago. Everyone thinks she's a problem child because she won't accept what other people say about God and her faith without verifying it against the Bible. She has had a couple brushes with the youth leader over differences of opinions, but I would have to agree with you. People telling me to stay away from someone because they don't like or get along with them really aggravates me! She is the only person here who was encouraging me through everything I was going through. I mean, lots of other people would say that they're praying for me, but no one would step out and be a friend that I could hang out with and talk to except her. People need to think before they speak sometimes!
